GOVERNANCE

Held to it,
not just saying it.

A verification company that can quietly change what it verifies, or what it does with what it collects, isn’t neutral. This page is the mechanism that keeps us honest about both.

THE PUBLIC BENEFIT MANDATE

Cognitiva Systems Inc. is a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation. Under Delaware law, that means our board is legally required to balance three things: the interests of our stockholders, the interests of everyone materially affected by our conduct, and the specific public benefit stated in our charter — compliance infrastructure for regulated, cross-border commercial activity.

Under Delaware law, our board reports to stockholders on a recurring basis about how well the company is promoting that stated public benefit. That accountability is a statutory obligation, not a marketing claim.

COMMITMENTS WE’VE MADE PUBLICLY

  • We capture the event, not the content — see Security for exactly what that means and why.
  • We don’t sell or license customer data, and there is no secondary-use product on our roadmap we haven’t asked customers about first.
  • We state which checks are registry-verified and which are rule-matched and attested, per corridor, on the record — never one presented as the other.
  • Where a check isn’t live yet, the status says so rather than showing a green light we can’t stand behind.
  • Subject access, correction, and objection requests go through a live route, verified and answered by a person — see Security.

IF SOMETHING LOOKS WRONG

If you think a check we ran was wrong, that we’re holding data we shouldn’t be, or that a claim on this site doesn’t match what we actually do — tell us directly at contact@cognitiva.systems. We’d rather hear it from you than from a regulator.
